Ice Assistant — brief job description
Ice Assistants welcome and help visitors, support the Rink Manager and help every skating session run safely, smoothly and enjoyably.
- Welcome and assist members of the public on and around the rink
- Help maintain public safety and follow the Rink Manager’s instructions
- Assist visitors with skate fitting, skate exchanges and skate aids
- Provide additional help and support to disabled visitors and anyone who needs assistance
- Support the box office with ticket sales and customer enquiries
- Provide on-ice assistance wearing skates or suitable ice grips
- Help keep the rink welcoming, organised and ready for visitors
No skating experience needed
Training will be provided. When working on the ice, team members may wear either ice skates or suitable ice grips.
Seasonal employment
These are temporary seasonal roles for the 2026–27 season. Hours will vary according to operational requirements and no minimum hours are guaranteed. Shifts will be offered when available, and workers may accept or decline them. Statutory employment rights apply.
