Relaxed sessions provide a gentler skating experience for anyone who may prefer a calmer environment. They are open to anyone who would benefit from this style of session.
What to expect
Our relaxed sessions are designed to offer a calmer and more accessible experience.
- Static lighting throughout the session
- No music or low-level sound
- Friendly staff on hand to assist
- A level and accessible event site throughout
- A quiet, calmer and less busy skating experience for everyone to enjoy
- Half the normal on-ice capacity, giving visitors more space and comfort on the ice
Supporting hidden disabilities
Ice Skate Leicester supports visitors with hidden disabilities and recognises the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. Wearing the Sunflower is voluntary and discreetly indicates that someone may need extra time, understanding or assistance.
If you need help during your visit, please speak to a member of our team.

Dementia friendly
Our Relaxed Skate sessions offer a calmer, more comfortable experience for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Static lighting, no or low sound, reduced on-ice capacity and staff on hand to assist help make each visit more welcoming. The event site is level and accessible throughout.
